Ubuntu: New Mobile OS!

I have heard of Ubuntu being ported to Android (Ubuntu for Android). This lets smartphones running Android to run a desktop operating system once plugged into a dock with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. It enables a mobile device to become a full-fledged desktop PC.

If you haven’t heard of Ubuntu: it’s an operating system just like Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8) and Mac OS X (Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion). The main difference is that Ubuntu is distributed FREE.

We thought that this was a great idea of expanding the range of devices that Android runs on. However, I was hoping that there would be a “mobile version” of Ubuntu instead — independent of Android. It would be great to have another open-source operating system for the mobile device market!
