When you started your blog, did you set any goals? Have you achieved them? Have they changed at all?
via Daily Prompt: Goals | The Daily Post
I came across the words “blog” and “blogging” back in 2006 when I was in second year college. Friendster, the dominant social networking service in the Philippines back then, introduced blogs to their users. Although it was under Friendster (blog-name.blog.friendster.com), it was powered by WordPress.com.
It was optional; not everyone in my friends list made one, but I went ahead and got one for myself. Back then, blogs were seen as literally, “online diaries”. I didn’t want to make daily accounts of my life open to the public. It was mentioned, however, that we could write about our lives or just about anything. I took that and decided to “just write”.

I’ve decided to merge future blog posts from my two other blogs, Fat-Loss Odyssey and Communications Odyssey, into my main blog: Recis Dempayos. It’s getting to be a drag having to maintain three blogs at the same time. I’m just too busy these days.
Now, the reason why I started other blogs beside my main blog (I had other ones before, by the way, a poetry and a gaming blog), was to ensure that I blogged on a niche or broad topic that interests me. Take for example, Fat-Loss Odyssey. I made it to publish my thoughts and past experiences on being fat, losing the fat, and maintaining and attaining my goals for my physique. I thought it was a broad topic to include in my main blog, so I created a dedicated blog for it.

Yes! As you can see, I’ve changed my blog theme, along with some of its menus and navigation links. It’s the month of the New Year and for me, it epitomizes the initiation of changes that have been put off for some time now. I’ve always wanted to try a blog theme with a featured slider (it’s the one you see above on the home page) that showcases blog posts along with featured images. I feel privileged and challenged now that I am a member of the Baguio Bloggers Society on Facebook. Privileged, because I am now part of a network that shares the same interest as I have in social media, specifically on vlogging and blogging. Challenged, because I now have a motivating factor to drive me to update my vlog and blogs and to regularly upload videos or publish posts.
Whew! Thank goodness it’s the semestral break, which gives me ample time to continue fixing all my social accounts. Hopefully, I’ll accomplish all of these before the start of the next semester.
Cheers to all!
It’s been exactly a year and a month since I last posted on this blog. Thankfully, I was able to fix my past blog posts, if only in their appearances. I also changed my blog address and blog name. Additionally, I integrated links to my other blog sites. Next up, I’m going to scan through all the content and optimize it, fix grammar issues, and generally make it web-friendly. I’m coming back to blogging and this will be my piece of the Internet. 😀
