Mother’s Day 2013

It was the long-standing endurance.
It was the patience despite anxiety.
It was allowing yourself to take the enormous burden.
It was the feelings you had for me within you.

I might never know how you actually see me.
Always, will I see you as my steady torch.
I may never understand your frustrations.
Always will I strive to make you proud.

For it was you who cradled this life.

It was the firm hands that pulled my little arms that I now walk.
It was the anger in every one of my illnesses that I now am strong.
It is the unstoppable force in my frustrations that I now am determined.
Most of all,
It is the smile and laughter in everyday that I feel,
Now and for life,

Why Still Single?

Sometimes, I meet friends from elementary and college. My friends from high school, I meet most of the time; if not all the time. Anyway, in almost every meet-up, these people ask me this same question over and over: “How’s your love life?”

There would be variations to the question, such as the following:

“Why still single?”

“You’re still single!?” *gasp* “WHY!!??”

“What’s new with you? Have you found ‘The One’?”

I don’t get it. Is being a relationship a requirement for LIVING? The last time I checked, people whom I know to have been living ALONE are still thriving and kicking ass. Actually, they’re even far better off at their careers compared to their married counterparts.

GOD’s Pharmacy

For the past few weeks, I’ve been indulging in a lot of sweets, fried foods, and powdered iced tea. Definitely not healthy! And surprisingly, I should have a health-conscious mind, what with all the working out that I do at the gym.

Thinking about my current diet made me remember a presentation sent to me by a former workmate. The said short presentation gave me an enlightening and an amusing take on how GOD designed fruits and vegetables and how each of these food nourish different parts of the human body.

I do hope this presentation will inspire you to reconsider taking on a more healthy approach to eating.

Where to Find a Perfect Life

That’s my cousin on the way to Banaue, Ifugao during the last summer.

A perfect life can’t be found:
In wealth ’cause riches can be taken away;
not in popularity for popular people can be forgotten;
not in beauty for beauty is not permanent;
not in intelligence ’cause it doesn’t make us a higher creation of GOD.

Instead, a perfect life can be found:
In contentment with the things we have,
from the love we give and get from the people around us, and
from Faith in GOD who gives us everything good.

Always be thankful and enjoy the things that you have. You may not know it, but there are people who would love to be in your place. Realize those things that you have now that truly make you alive.

Words of Wisdom From Six-Year-Olds

faces-of-calvinIt’s time to share another of those emails that I received from my friends back when we were still in college:

A first-grade school teacher had 26 students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the first half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.

It’s hard to believe these were actually done by first-graders! Their insight may surprise you! While reading, keep in mind that these are six-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!
