And so, we all go back to where everything started. This actually feels like the first chapter of Fairy Tail! Anyway, Lucy Heartfilia has written letters to everyone she could come in contact with saying to meet up in Magnolia so they could bring Fairy Tail back. She, Natsu Dragneel, Happy, Carla, and Wendy Marvell are thus back in Magnolia. It is but fitting that Lucy be the one to assemble everyone for since I started reading Fairy Tail, it felt like the original plan for this manga was to have her as the central character. But, it is much better that the focus was directed to a group and other individuals outside of it.
Getting back to the story, Lucy feels that after the uneventful disbanding one year ago, everyone must have gotten on and/or moved on with their lives. As such, she feels downtrodden. While feeling sad, Cana Alberona approaches her—as if we would not be able to recognize her just from her back! Hah! Anyway, she cheers up Lucy and says that the disbanding was a good break for everyone to learn new things outside of guild life and to grow. Although we did not see her reaction to the guild disbanding (along with Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, and Gajeel Redfox’s, which we would like to have seen) I am sure it was a shock to them.
With that, Cana calls Lucy their “icebreaker” and pulls her saying that “they are all waiting”. The next scenes actually reminded me of chapter 337: The Golden Plains. Truly, everyone is there. But of course! It is not just a guild; it is a family! Minor changes to everyone’s appearances took place, which is good so that we could still point out who’s who. Everyone except Vijeeter Ecor. He is probably the one who changed a whole lot in appearance. I actually did not recognize him the moment everyone appeared—his name was called out in the next pages, which made me realize who he was.
Then, we see Mirajane Strauss who welcomes Lucy home. The moment she said, “Welcome home”, I cried along with Lucy. It is moments like these that make me want to become a member of Fairy Tail. 🙂
After that, everyone catches up and Natsu locates the guild flag under a pile of rubble. Apparently, the citizens of Magnolia never bothered to clean up the debris left by the destruction of the Fairy Tail guild house. It seems they left things as is. Weird, but I guess it was good that they did.
And then, the BIG REVEAL: the next chapter is titled, “The Seventh Guild Master”! OMG!!! WHO WILL IT BE!!!???
Chapter Disappointment: Gajeel and Pantherlily giving up their posts at the Magic Council. I thought it would be cool to show off their badges to other members of the guild, especially for someone unexpected like Gajeel. A badass like Gajeel in authority makes him so damn cool! Also, I wished Mirajane changed and reverted to her former badass/evil/devil everyday outfit, but still with a good-natured personality. And finally, the guild has disbanded and are now coming back together and still, Gildarts Clive has not shown his face!? What the heck!!! I was hoping Cana arrived to Magnolia with him!
Chapter Approval: Of course, the fact that Fairy Tail is coming back!
Chapter Witticism: Warrod Sequen breathing a sigh of relief now that Gajeel gave up his post in the Magic Council… because after all, it was just a joke! Ha! Ha!
Chapter Cliffhanger: Indeed, who is going to be the next guild master? I’ll make a separate blog post for my thoughts on this. Also, I wonder what happened to Magnolia when Fairy Tail disbanded? Did Twilight Ogre take over?
