Basically, this chapter is a vanity issue for Sōsuke Aizen. In this chapter, we are presented with Aizen’s display of power; notably, just a part of it: he is not fully free as he still has nine of the 12 seals on him. With three seals out, he is able to eliminate the dark creatures coming from the Soul King’s palace that the shinigami were having difficulty warding off. With his display of power, an image of Aizen in a second bout against Ichigo Kurosaki formed in my mind. I guess, Aizen has gotten really, REALLY STRONGER and would be able to easily defeat Ichigo.
Then again, I really consider Aizen an antagonist and him aiding the shinigami just gives me the creeps. But, as Shunsui Kyōraku pointed out, they have to fight evil with another evil. It would be interesting to see what happens in the next chapter.
Chapter Disappointment: Seeing Aizen—I do not trust him.
Chapter Approval: The shinigami might actually have a chance.
Chapter Witticism: None.
Chapter Cliffhanger: From what Aizen said in the last page, he will “set the roads” for the shinigami. I guess he will NOT be fighting Yhwach? Lastly, I wonder what happened to Jūshirō Ukitake? I do hope he is doing okay.
