Endeared with Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You / Reaching You

Kimi-ni-Todoke-vol-1-cover-artI’m trying to recall how I discovered Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You, a shōjo manga and animé title by Karuho Shiina.

Hmm … so basically, I just finished reading chapter 19 of Fairy Tail on mangapanda.com and was looking for a romance manga with cutesy characters. Something along the lines of Card Captor Sakura and Ranma 1/2. Anyway, I think I was on the homepage of MangaPanda and was scrolling through their “Popular Manga” list. That, or I hit their “Surprise Me!” button beside the search field, which takes you to a random manga title. Regardless of which among those methods I performed, I found myself facing the cover art of the first volume of Kimi ni Todoke (see left image).

PhilHealth Nationwide Run 2013 (Baguio City)

PhilHealth-Nationwide-Run-2013-Baguio-City-1At the start of this week (17 February 2013 — Sunday), me and some of my friends participated in a simultaneous nationwide run organized by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). The Philippine government-owned and government-controlled corporation (GOCC) that provides universal health coverage for Filipinos organized the said run to raise funds for mother and child protection.

There were four categories for the organized run: 3K, 5K, 10K, and 18K.

My first attempt to participate in an organized run was in late 2011, wherein I ran in the 3K category. My second attempt was in early 2012 under the 12K category. The third was also in early 2012 but at a shorter 5K distance.

There’s the saying that goes, “Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are.” As such, the following perceptions of who I am, apart from how I perceive myself, are based on how I think my friends perceive who am I. Confusing? It’s the application of empathy for the purpose of  self-discovery and affirmation, though not completely accurate. 🙂
