Happy Birthday Daddy!

It’s my dad’s birthday. It’s a shame he wasn’t able to wait for this day. He would’ve been 63. Maybe he would have agreed to retirement. And if that was the case, I would’ve thrown him a retirement party together with family, friends, and colleagues. *sigh!*

My dad is a rock star!

Surprise! *This photo was taken by me during my grade school graduation party.* 😀
Damn! I really look like my dad's younger self! A photocopy, as said by his constituents.
Yeah... My dad is really a rock star!

Danny Boy
Old Irish folk song

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer’s gone, and all the roses falling
‘Tis you, ’tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow
‘Tis I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
You’ll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an “Ave” there for me.
And I shall hear, tho’ soft you tread above me
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be
For ye shall bend and tell me that you love me
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me.

*The above song is my dad’s theme.*

Man! Those were the good old days. Thanks dad! And happy birthday!

  1. You do look very much like your father and I’m sorry to hear that he passed away so young. I lost my dad in 2002. I still miss him today and always will miss him as we were very close. I think it’s really nice that you have remembered your dad in this way.
