Top Movies of the Decade That Was

As you might know, this year is the final year of the ’00s decade. We will be saying goodbye to 10 years that have made a lasting mark on our lifetimes. This is specially meaningful to me and my generation, say, those born five years ahead and before me—it is in this decade wherein we have entered school, discovered ourselves (both literally and metaphorically), and spent most of our young lives. I remember first entering high in the year 2000. I thought, “Wow! Our generation is the ‘Millennium Generation’! Our batch marks this historic year!” Later on, I learned that the millennium actually started in 2001—the year 2000 was the last year of the past millennium; meaning, we weren’t the “Millennium Generation.” Oh well…

But enough of this “down memory lane” atmosphere. This blog post specifically talks about the top-rating movies of the decade that we will be leaving behind. As a frequent moviegoer, I thought of obtaining various “top movies lists” from the web and watching each movie on those lists that I haven’t seen yet.

Here is a Top Rated 2000s Titles list from The Internet Movie Database [format is: Rank-Rating-Title (with English title if needed)-Year]

I definitely have a lot to catch up on when it comes to movies in the coming years…
